Mariyaan Mariyaan story is based on a commonman’s love, anger, expectations, how he overcomes all his hurdles in life and gets victory in it. Dhanush and ‘Poo’ Parvathi Menon are doing the lead roles. National award winner andone of the jury in National awards Bharath Bala directs the film and music was composed by maestro AR Rahman. The film had released with more expectation lets see whether it had fulfilled all expectations. Dhanush lives in seashore and he loves his fishing profession. Panimalar(Parvathy), loves Dhanush one side from childhood. First he didn’t accept her proposal later Dhanush also started loving Parvathy. At the stage of their love ends up in marriage he was forced to sign in an agreement for two years to work in Africa. The film starts with the phone call from Mariyaan to Panimalar. First half of the film deals with lovely relationship between Mariyaan and Panimalar. Bharath Bala done a marvelous job in characterizing the roles, it also became the major reasonfor the success of Mariyaan. Especially, the film shows the real life of fisherman and natural film making without any exaggeration is the mainplus for Mariyaan. Dhanush had done an extraordinary performance in the film which again proves that he is a promising actor. Mariyaan is a ferocious man who will go any extreme for his loved one. Dhanush’s way of speech, cries, smile, suffer is very much apt to the character and this film will be one of his best one from the recent movies. Coming to Mariyaan’s pair Panimalar, it’s not an ordinary role. If Mariyaan’s strength in Africa terrorist camp is Parvathy imagine how her character must produce an impact to audience. In this Parvathy had done a splendid performance. Parvathy once again proves herself as a versatile actress who can handle any role. Her romance scenes with Dhanush are so real. The other characters like Appu Kutty, Uma Riyaz, Jegan, and Imman also grabs a place in our heart. Cinematography was done in an impressing way by Marc Koninckx. Especially Africa portions angles are well done by him. Vivek Harshan was also appreciated for his editing work. Bharath Bala follows Mani Ratnam in using AR Rahman songs as one of the part of story and helps to move the story. We all are aware that the wholemusic album was mind-blowing. Especially, ‘Nenjey Ezlu’ song lifts the whole scene and it was so remarkable. Coming to the negative side, Bharath Bala may add much more detaining in terrorist characters. Director had shown them as villain, if they had characterized much more about the story behind their change and what makes them asterrorist it would be nice. It seems thefilm is done from Mariyaan’s way of thinking since he don’t know about their past. Totally ‘Mariyaan is a good family entertainment and can be watched for Dhanush- Partvathy acting, music and Bharath Bala’s story narration.
