Engaged Couple: Christina Hall and Glen Osburn Video Credit: Tony Gambino & Ariel Rakes Dreams really do come true! Here is our fairytale story. Just over 10 years ago in December of 2003, I met the man of my dreams on a cruise ship, and as all fairytales should start, it was on a Disney cruise. The cruise was only a week long but I knew I had met the man that I would one day marry, even if I didnt know when or where. Leaving after that week long cruise was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I cried inconsolably, I was only 20 years old, so I thought to myself what did I know about true love? but through the years, he and I kept in touch and talked each other through the life events we were experiencing. Soon we realized that our immediate attraction upon first meeting may actually be true love as no-one ever matched up to this amazing man named, Glen. He was also quite persistent and continued to check on me, including my relationship status. After many years of conversations, school for me, and work for him, it was time to finally figure this whole fairytale out. In March of 2013 I met him in his home country of England for the very important meet the parents visit. He spent the whole summer surprising me with visits to various places Ive always wanted to go, Dublin, Cyprus, Paris. The entire time it was as if the world existed only to bring us together. At the end of the summer, it was time for me to return to the real world so I journeyed back to Albuquerque, again, leaving the man I love, me crying inconsolably. We made plans for Glen to come visit for Christmas. It was then, exactly 10 years after we met, that Glen proposed on a History and Christmas tour of Old Town Albuquerque. I had no idea that would be happening! I was so surprised. What even made it more impressive is that he planned the whole thing from England. On the day Glen proposed, we arrived at the tour location, were greeted by Santa and some other tour guests. Then we were approached by a videography team who stated they were doing a video for the Albuquerque Tourism and Visitor’s Bureau. They wanted to video the tour and put microphones on a few of the tourists. Glen and I volunteered, but they only gave Glen a microphone. To be honest, I was a bit mad. He assured me it was because he was English and they most likely wanted a non-New Mexican on the video to prove how multicultural New Mexico truly was. The videographer kept following us and I didn’t think anything of it since Glen was on a microphone, so it seemed natural that they would be following us. We ended up at the chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe and there was a guy outside playing the guitar and I thought, “how cool is that?” We went into the chapel to look around and when we came out, Glen started to dance with me. We do this quite frequently and usually in random places with no warning, so that wasn’t out of the ordinary for me. Then I realized the man on the guitar was playing our song and all of a sudden, Glen was on his knee. The rest is history. Dreams really do come true… even if they’re 10 years in the making. I am more in love with Glen today than ever and cant believe he arranged all of this from England. I always told myself Id marry the man who could surprise me. I always seem to figure surprises out, but with Glen, Ive met my match! I mean the tour, Santa, the videographers the guitarist, flowers and the singer. He had never been to New Mexico before! How was he so amazing? He also did everything I had ever wanted in a proposal, he asked my parents permission, said my full name during the proposal and had it videoed (without me knowing) so wed always have a remembrance of the day. To top it off, he gave me the sunshine in my ring! Id always wanted a canary diamond, and thats what he gave me. You could say that he is my very own, real life, prince charming...accent and all. He is my split-apart, my soul mate, my true love and the man that has held my heart captive since the day I met him.
