Villa 1-1 Leicester - HT: Ciaran Clark’s goal after 17 minutes ensured Villa went in at the break on level terms – and it was the least they deserved. Leonardo Ulloa tapped in the opener after Brad Guzan was left wrong-footed by Riyad Mahrez’s initial shot. But four minutes later, Clark stooped to meet Ashley Westwood’s free-kick and head past Kasper Schmeichel. The home side were good value for their goal, having threatened on a couple of occasions through Christian Benteke. The Belgian forward turned away from Danny Simpson before firing over from 18 yards. He also sent a half-volley inches wide after latching on to Alan Hutton’s ball forward.
