Marty Bailen passed away yesterday. Marty never chased fame or fortune he won by helping others. He gave and his efforts were for the right reasons. In recruiting I always look for extraordinary players. Marty had the one quality all extraordinary players have, he made others around him better!!!! In the game of life he was a CHAMPION!!! Our world is not as good without Marty but if we ALL follow the life he lived our world will be much better. One last thought. I can NEVER EVER remember Marty Bailen complaining about ANYTHING. Just think how often we should all follow the example he set for all of us! On behalf of the Davenport family and the Bellarmine Basketball family our thoughts and prayers are with the Bailen family. Thank you Marty for everything!!!!!!! Rest in Peace.
