Marwadi(Or Marwari) families - Few peculiarities I observed, * They normally live in joint families - You can save a lot on joint families. Though there can be friction among families in same house...It helps at the times of crisis which need human assistance. * They do not torture their kids to become engineers and doctors. Even the brightest marwari kids are asked to take commerce courses. * They normally grow at a consistent rate(They do not deplete resources to grow faster today).(Ambanis and Brilas are exceptions) * Typically elder son inherits the business while younger ones are helped to start new business on their own. * People blame them for interest after all it is their business(even my own father was a victim). * They know all tax saving best practices(I am yet to know this deeper). * They feel rich irrespective of their bank balance. * Once SBI clerk told me that every marwari family member would have a PPF account in the young age itself and they would withdraw 50%(statuorily allowed) of 5 year old balance and redeposit(for tax benefit without touching their income) to same PPF.
