Mary lives in Cleveland and grew up here with her brother, Michael, who since moved to Oklahoma. Her brother, who is a U.S. Navy veteran, has Stage 4 cancer and is at the VA hospital in Oklahoma. Her brother always loved Dunkin Donuts but there are no DD in the area where he lives. Mary traveled through CLE last Saturday to visit him as he transitions into Hospice. His bucket list request to her was to bring him a dozen jelly donuts from Dunkin Donuts. As Mary arrived, she learned that they were sold out of jelly donuts. This conversation was overheard by Myron, a Dunkin Donuts employee who was off duty at the time. Myron asked her how much time she had before her flight and told her to come back within the hour. When she returned, he had prepared 24 jelly donuts, individually wrapped and boxed for the trip. Mary attempted to tip him, which he refused, and they hugged as she departed. Mary’s brother was extremely pleased to receive the donuts. Our thoughts are with Mary, Michael and their family.
