Mathieu Debuchy has brushed off speculation linking him with a move to Monaco this summer, saying that he is hoping to help Newcastle United challenge at the top of the Premier League table again this summer. Debuchy said he had seen the rumours linking him with Monaco, but it made him smile how often the big spending Ligue 1 were linked with new players. Cheick Tiote has said that he expects to stay at Newcastle this summer despite interest from Lokomotiv Moscow. Tiote had a disappointing season last year, and there has been speculation that Newcastle would be happy to sell the Ivorian if a sizeable bid came in, but the midfielder will not actively pursue a move away from St James’ Park. Reported Newcastle and Arsenal target Mathieu Valbuena has refused to rule a move this summer, with the Marseille midfielder suggesting that whilst he is happy in France he could leave if the right comes in. Valbuena helped Marseille to second place in Ligue 1 last season.
