Matthew 26:7 NIV A woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. Thought of the day…. Dare to be different! My daughter is now 23 years old but my I have taught her, her entire life to stand out, and dare to be different, be an individual and not follow the crowd. Well, she does that to an extreme sometimes but that’s ok, as long as it is in following Christ and not the world. Today’s scripture is about someone being different as well. It’s a story of a woman who, while Jesus was visiting in her home, sacrificed a very expensive jar of perfume by pouring it over her Lords head. In the story she was rebuked for wasting this perfume, however she dared to be different and this was out of the norm, wasteful. I’m not sure she even gave it a thought of what others thought of her for doing this sacrificial act of worship. Today I think we are so concerned about what everyone else thinks, we are afraid to be different, afraid to completely worship our Lord or stand out as a follower of Christ. The woman in the story was so in love with her Lord that she wasn’t afraid of criticism or rebuke and thus poured out all she had for Him. Today I ask, are you pouring out everything you have for the Lord without regard of what others think?
