May 25th is Afrikan Liberation Day (ALD)! On April 15, 1958, Afrikan Freedom Day was created at the Conference of Independent Afrikan States in Accra Ghana so as to “mark each year the onward progress of the liberation movement, and to symbolise the determination of the people of Africa to free themselves from foreign domination and exploration.” On May 25, 1963, the Organization of Afrikan Unity (now the Afrikan Union) changed the name of Afrikan Freedom Day to Afrikan Liberation Day. It is clear from events in Nigeria, Canada, the Central Afrikan Republic, Mali, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Brazil, Colombia, the United States and elsewhere that the work of liberating Afrikans from all forms of oppression is still with us. What are you going to contribute to Afrikan solidarity and liberation today and onward? https://facebook/events/1389210601366634/?source=1
