Maybe this is because Im getting older, but Im so bored with a lot of music in the scene. Particularly the bands on Rise Records and stuff like that. Theyre all cookie cutter with the way all of their drum tones are the same unrealistically fat sounding razor tight samples with the guitars grid snapped to all of the hits. The over produced almost robotically harmonized vocals over top and the other clichés. Just makes me sad how an art form gets mass produced to a process like that because thats what has been shown to work and make money. And props to them cause kids do eat it up. I personally think its a problem when a song comes on and the first thing you think is Okay who is this? This could be 5 different bands.
