Maybe this may be just me wishful thinking but... I reckon, in the future, whenever any Australian government politician, public servant, or consultant ever make future policies, legislation and recommendations about we Aboriginal Peoples, then they should be first filtered and assessed through the use of the minimal legal, political and social Articles framework of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, prior to any media declaration and/or public implementation. If any such policies, legislation and recommendations fall short of or indeed fail and breaches any or all of Articles, as contained with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, then such Australian governments politicians, public servant or consultants need to stop and go back to the drawing board. Here in Australia, do you not find it oh so strange and peculiar that the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples barely raises a mention within the media, governments, and dare I say it even from some of we Aboriginal Mob? Twenty years wasted coming up with them if we do not use them and enact them. It is written.... Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. (Proverbs 31:8-9) Thats me Sunday sermon for the day...Do me hear an Awomen to that..ooops...apologies...please do forgive me for the religious pun...Do me hear an Amen to that ;)
