Maycee Update: She is still breathing fast. The 5 day course of steroids did not help all that much. We were coming in today expecting them to schedule her test to see how much pressure she needed and then a probable tracheotomy. However, the doctors decided to try a 3 day course of a higher dose of steroids and an increased dose of Lasix to help get fluid off her lungs. They will be having a chronic lung disease meeting tomorrow where they will discuss her long term treatment. The doctor today said she didnt really display any of the normal signs of a baby who needs a trach, besides the fast breathing. It is frustrating because the doctors and nurses have differing opinions on where to go from here. There are those who are leaning towards a trach and others say she is still in recovery from her infection and we should give her time. I ask you to pray that they will come together with a plan that is best for Maycee.
