Disclaim But Ms Boona, flanked by the district speaker, Mr William Rushesha, and some councillors convened a press conference last Friday denying the claims. “It is true I refused the tea they had brought to me because of its bad smell. Everyone had a right to make his choice on what to take,” Ms Boona said, adding: “So the district chairperson also had a right to make his choice. My refusing to take it did not mean I had a cover up motive.’’ Mr Rushesha called for investigations sorrounding the matter. “We heard that he was then taken to India where they extracted poison from him. Let him prove to us and investigations go on to establish what all this poisoning claims are about,” he said. When contacted, Mr Tumusiime said he would not wish to discuss his private life in public. “I do not want my private life, especially my sickness to be discussed in public. Let it not be politicised. I do not want to bring confusion and tension in the district leadership after all I am now getting better,” he said.
