Me at boot camp graduation. There are not many photos I will keep in boy mode.. but this one.. This one is special. One of the greatest days of my life. While I was standing there. In the heat.. massive heat.. sweating.. feet burning. There was a special event about to happen. On this day I realized how important I was to my family. At this very moment I saw my father and his family, my aunt and her family. I was okay with that. Didnt know they were gonna be there. But it was cool that they made it. I dont know who all have been to a Marine Corps graduation. But right after we are dismissed. We roar at the top of our lungs Oooh Raaa! And about face. One platoon perfectly timed after the another so everyone knows our roar of each platoon. When I turned around to greet the ones that showed to my day. I happen to look up... Instantly went to parade rest. No talking. As my family came up to me. No movement when they tried to shake my hand. Solid. I see my mother. As the stands clear out. Tears of joy. And only when she was 6 from me (about 5 min) I broke parade rest and gave her a hug. And told her I love her. Only then I greeted the rest of my family. Discipline. Honor. And the Mother who raise one who became a United States Marine.
