Me thinks the media is composed of people with telephone jacks in their shoes. The other end of the line is hardwired to our government in Washington. This latest Malaysian Boeing 777 crash is a valid exhibit of my theory. I would hope SOMEONE understands that there is vastly more going on here than meets the eyes, ears, nose (Smell test) and cranial contents. Even those media Experts who project their smelling-a-fart scowls during their turn to testify on the air at this baloney flinging festival are hooked up to the Central Committee. Absolutely NONE of this information is valid. N-O-N-E!! There are holes in these reports you could drive a tour bus through (Or even fly a 777 through.....) First and foremost, folks have to understand what ICAO is. The International Civil Aviation Organization was forged by a treaty of Member Nations to conduct flight operations between and within their respective countries under standard regulations specified in that treaty. Procedures are established for aircraft separation on specified routes, language requirements (English), measurements of altitude (ISA Altitudes), ATS Controllers, Route Navigation and Communications, Minimum Navigational Performance Specifications, Air Rescue Contingencies, etc. One BIG ELEPHANT in this room concerns the Treaty Requirement for Crew/Dispatcher Notification of Flight Hazards. NOTAMs and Advisories are a staple requirement for crews planning flights in regions of conflict or natural disasters, such as volcanic eruptions (Or Hillary Book Releases...) No ICAO Operated flight should have been routed through that region, PERIOD! ANY threat known or suspected that would jeopardize flights through these regions are designated, measured and published as NO-FLIGHT Zone Threats. Do you folks remember what happened after 9/11? All aircraft were grounded under a procedure instituted by NORAD called SCATANA. (Security Control of Air Traffic and Navigation Aids) Basically, this is an aeronautical version of Martial Law. Lesser levels of aeronautical restrictions and routing modifications are part of the ICAO Procedural Manuals for pilots and controllers. We have not heard from any news source--or their experts--about flight restrictions or notifications of flight crews and controllers concerning flight hazards in that region. This, my friends, is BALONEY!
