I always wondered why small home towns never breed greatness. Take Watervliet for this example. Not much great has come out of it and when the city is not doing great they blame it on the new generation of teens. How can you expect people to become great when they are raised around others who settled for average or simply what their last name could buy them. I had to leave the city on different journeys to learn what true greatness was and it taught me how to become great (currently chasing it). If a city wants greatness then they have to cultivate it for others to learn from. Its sad but for someone living in upstate NY they have very little opportunity to learn how to become great and they are almost forced to leave the area to find it. So when people wonder why they cal the capital distinct smallbany remember its because most people with power or ability either moved or sold out for the quick reward.
