Meanwhile, a number of Reid’s Democratic colleagues are facing a separate ethics complaint from the Center for Competitive Politics for their alleged roles in the IRS targeting of conservative nonprofit groups. The complaint accuses several Senators—Carl Levin (D., Mich.), Dick Durbin (D., Ill.), Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), Jeanne Shaheen (D., N.H.), Tom Udall (D., N.M.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D., R.I.), Al Franken (D., Minn.), Michael Bennet (D., Colo.), and Jeff Merkley (D., Ore.)—of “improperly interfering with the administrative proceedings of the IRS.” It is also noted that Harry Reid already has ethics complaints filed against him by the Louisiana Republican Party for his use of official Senate resources to launch partisan attacks against the Koch brothers and others, a violation of Senate rules. There is little question that Reid is dirty and needs to go. The Republicans and several Tea Party groups have launched a political movement, targeting Reid and highlighting his nasty behavior in ads to remind voters why the GOP needs to take the Senate in the midterms to remove Reid from his position as Majority Leader. It is high time that Reid is gone from Washington. Nevada needs to fire him and bring him home.
