Media Release Because of the large populations of Marshallese that both the Crescent Community Health Center and the Dubuque congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints work with each day, both organizations are aware of challenges that many of the Marshallese living in the Dubuque area are having both understanding the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and enrolling for coverage through the Marketplace. In response to the needs of this population, the two organizations have organized a special community meeting for the Marshallese community to both understand the benefits of the Affordable Care Act and to receive assistance in enrolling for benefits through the Marketplace. The meeting is scheduled for December 14, 2013 at 6 pm at the Crescent Wellness Center located at 1805 Central Avenue. Certified Application Councilors from the Crescent Community Health Center will explain and answer questions regarding the ACA and the Marketplace and will be available to assist attendees with enrollment in the Marketplace. Marshallese interpreters from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be available to provided interpretation services for those needing assistance. All Marshallese living in the Greater Dubuque Area are encouraged to attend this community meeting and should bring the following: • Social Security numbers for all applicants • Immigration status documents (green card, worker visa, student visa, proof of citizenship from the Marshall Islands, Micronesia or Palau) or proof of temporary protected status, asylum or refugee • Date of Birth • Any current insurance documentation • 2012 tax returns • Employer and Income Information
