Media Release For Immediate Dissemination The Richfield Police Department is investigating a reported Attempted Abduction that occurred on Friday June 7th, 2013 at approximately 12:00 noon in the area of Glencairn Forest and The Woods residential complexes. According to the complainant (a male juvenile), he was approached by a suspect in a small gray 4-door passenger car with dark tinted windows. The complainant stated he observed only one person in the vehicle. The juvenile stated he had never seen the vehicle in the area prior to Friday. The complainant described the suspect as follows: • White male 40-50 years old • Salt and Pepper hair, but not balding • Unshaven, but no moustache or beard • Scar on right cheek • Possible brown eyes • Male appeared to be physically fit • Black short sleeve t-shirt • Black or dark colored jeans with plain white tennis shoes The complainant reported that the male suspect stopped the vehicle in front of him while he was walking, blocking his path. The male suspect exited the vehicle and offered the complainant a ride home. When the complainant declined the ride and kept walking, the male then grabbed the complainant and attempted to drag him into the vehicle. The complainant and the suspect struggled and the suspect grabbed the complainant’s cell phone and threw it into the grass. The complainant managed to escape from the suspect and ran home.
