Meet 4 year old Giovanni: he has been diagnosed with Autism and PICA and is the youngest of three disabled children in his home in suburban Chicago, IL. Gio is in great need of a specially trained Autism Service Dog from 4 Paws For Ability. The service dog would help calm him during anxious, stressful and overwhelming situations and serve as companion & best friend to a child with few friends who understand him. This dog could encourage him to interact with people and is trained to calm, distract and redirect Gios negative behaviors. Most importantly, a service dog is trained for search and rescue should Giovanni run off or leave the house. Only 48 days remain for the family to raise the funds needed for them to travel to 4 Paws for Ability in Xenia, OH to complete a mandatory training and certification course; the last step in what has been a 2 year process for Gios service dog to come home.
