Melinda wrote--A few days ago while I was grocery shopping.(im a double hand amputee & choose to wear only one prosthetic hook) I was surfing the freezer section to get 3 different kinds of ice cream. (When items are to high I tap with my hook to make it fall then catch with my bare arm) when I was done a woman told me I was awesome cuz she was watching me the whole time, (i didnt know i was being watched lol )she asked me what happened. after I told her I was stuck in a punch press at work, she then said shes so glad to see me still alive. (Shes a stranger to me) then she started to cry! I never had that happen to me. So on her 3rd time of saying im awesome I decided to make my normal joke and said thank you, its about time someone noticed my awesomeness. She then laughed and I told her thank you and walked away. Its eating me alive not knowing why she cried. So wish she said more or I asked her why. But out of every stressful thing I do, this is why I try so hard to remain most of my independence....for myself & others ( I pray she didnt loose a loved one due to an amptuation) has this happened to anyone else? Im a softy and cant stop wondering why she cried, I feel so bad that I didnt ask her.
