Meliá Nassau Beach Resort officially opened four new ultra-chic restaurants yesterday, offering guests a dining tour ranging from a gourmet gastronomic experience to casual fare, complete with local culinary delights. The signature eateries — each opening onto a private gallery and living room type seating — are Cilantro, Nikkei and The Black Angus. The new social hub of the hotel will be at Estavida, an upbeat tapas lounge, located in the hotel’s redesigned lobby. Cilantro takes guests on a complete gastronomic journey through the natural textures, aromas and flavors of Mexico. Menu highlights include pork tenderloin with braised chard and tequila sauce, grouper with green ceviche and chicken fried tacos. A tableside margarita trolley adds a festive flair. Celebrated for its fusion of Japanese, Cantonese and Peruvian cuisine, Nikkei, features a sushi bar and Teppanyaki tables. The restaurant combines superior service and quality with a high-energy vibe, offering guests an inviting atmosphere and flavorful cuisine. Menu highlights include the crunchy Thai salad, salmon and avocado ceviche, Japanese chicken curry and encrusted sea bass with curry mango sauce. The Black Angus, a steakhouse featuring hip, contemporary jazz and modern decor, offers guests the finest quality prime cuts and the freshest ingredients.Menu highlights include Bahamian lobster tail, grilled sea bass with orange sauce, fire glazed BBQ pork ribs, and beef empanadas with chimichurri sauce. Estavida is an upbeat tapas lounge located in the hotel lobby specializing in innovative tapas and a wide selection of cocktails. Guests enjoy light bites during the day or sip on Estavida’s signature apricot sangriaor gin “peel” tonic while reveling in the lounge’s lively, energetic atmosphere into the late evening hours. The sophisticated new restaurants — three of which are located on the fourth floor of the hotel with sweeping panoramic views of the turquoise Bahamian waters — mark the completion of phase one of the resort’s $19 million renovation. The restaurants were renovated over approximately eight months. They will serve as one of several signature features in what will be the only all-inclusive resort in Nassau’s $3.5 billion luxury resort destination, Baha Mar, once the remaining renovations are completed in early 2016. “Meliá Nassau Beach is pleased to welcome guests to four signature restaurants, each with a distinctive style, ambiance and menu that we believe represent culinary delights from the around the world and create a unique guest experience in The Bahamas,” said Andrew Tilley, general manager at Meliá Nassau Beach Resort. “Our guests are often very familiar with the superb guest experience offered at Meliá Hotels International and we are confident that the experience at Meliá Nassau Beach will exceed their expectations.” Meliá Nassau Beach boasts three existing popular dining options, including Aqua, O’Grille and The Market Place, which is currently undergoing renovations. Aqua provides patrons with an entertaining dinner menu of exquisite Italian cuisine, along with an extensive wine list. Featuring a blend of traditional and modern fare, the restaurant delivers a meticulously crafted balance of flavors for guests to enjoy. O’Grille, which will open shortly, features a casual ambiance seamlessly mingling ocean and beach with dining and entertainment. Versatile with a breathtaking beachfront location, O’Grille is an American grill by day and a South American Rodizio by night. The Market Place is an open kitchen featuring Balance by Meliá serving international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests can also indulge in a selection of aperitifs and delicatessen-style snacks after midnight.
