Merely an observation... What did we do 8 years ago when someone we dont know, but who is famous enough for us to know of, died? Wed see it on the news or elsewhere and say well thats sad, bummer, he/she was so talented, I feel bad for the children/spouse/pool boy. Back then we didnt suffer yet from Global Mourning which is like global warming but created from our own gasses. Now its not an exclusive province of the internet age, Lady Di, John Lennon, Cobain, Jacko etc... but it does seem to have, as most things do in the endless echo chamber of the internet, amplified past its own likelihood. Im just saying this. Its sad that Robin Williams died for myriad reasons. He was a funny man, with great acting chops. He was a sufferer of depression, and addiction, battles we can speculate now he may have lost. Im just wondering if as many of my friends who say they are crying really are? And if so, whats happened to create this emotional blockage that spews out at times when I just dont think it would have a decade ago with such frequency. Ive done it too! Oh so many times in the last few years. Is it crass to say sometimes it looks like a whos more effected competition, which then brings into focus Ultimate Championship Victimhood which is everywhere as it is. Anyway eat dusty lady taints if you plan to respond with argument. Ive made no claimes to know whats what. Im just asking, earnestly, am I the only one who sees a change? I dont know. Im gonna drink now.
