Merry Christmas and Lisa update: First and foremost, we wish a Merry Christmas to all of you and your families. We are thankful to have you in our lives. Lisa is home from the hospital. She came home on Christmas Eve. I waited until today to let everyone know because yesterday was a little rough for Lisa. Preparing to come home and then coming home was exhausting for Lisa so she was pretty short of breath. Today she is resting and not nearly as short of breath. The good news is that she was released from the hospital. Unfortunately, her lung function is still down significantly. We do not know the amount of decrease as she cannot take a lung function test for another six weeks. She will be on oxygen (4-5 liters per minute) all the time now. Additionally, Lisa will be on a continuous IV antibiotic and need to do four vest therapies per day. Lisa will be busy getting used to maneuvering the oxygen tubing, managing her medication, changing her IV’s, and doing four therapies a day. Of course, she needs to get a lot of rest in between all that as well. The question of being listed for transplant is always looming and a little more front and center with the decreased lung function. We have decided to let things settle down a little before we discuss being listed. As always, Lisa is in good spirits. As crazy as it sounds, she is trying to figure out a computer set-up so she can keep working. I’m excited to have her home. If everything remains stable, we will be maintaining current therapties until we go back to the doctor on January 12th. Thanks again for your kind words and prayers. caringbridge.org/visit/lisastackhouse/journal
