Message I posted on Greg Hunts page.. Hi Greg, or as I shall refer to you, Chris, as I think C Hunt is more appropriate having read your reply to the CSG petition from 7500 concerned citizens. You stated that the industry is put through rigorous testing, yet when Santos was granted permission without the scrutiny of the Aquifer Interference as it wasnt required. Since then they have been found guilty of contaminating 2 separate aquifers. So Chris, I would challenge that our government is concerned at all about environmental impact. More recently, since the forest has been closed off to the public, there has been footage of the contaminated water being sprayed onto the road. They are not even pretending to follow regulations once they thought the public eye is off them. To put some context to this, the company was fined a measly $1500, while the people who have challenged this in the form of peaceful protest have been fined $3000 each. If I was a sceptic, I would think that that your government have a vested interest in this going ahead, regardless of the impact. To quote you Greg, I mean Chris, Appropriate conditions are set as part of a project approval to ensure any significant impacts on a water resource are acceptable. I disagree, as do many voters that are affected by this. This fight is far from over, and it appears that you will be pushing ahead at all costs, including massive police numbers and even military as was sprouted by the government during Bentley. Id like to remind you Chris, that you were once Greg, and you were voted by the people to support the people. The IPA is pushing capitalism with a conscience. Its your job to hold them accountable to this on the Environment. Regards
