Message from IIA: 9 January 2014 Open letter to all members of IIA-Pakistan and its affiliated chapters. You are a valued member of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). At IIA Global Headquarters, it is our priority to ensure you are connected to the network of 180,000 IIA members around the world and have access to guidance, training, certifications, and The IIA’s many products and services that help you as a professional. We also strive to ensure the network of IIA chapters and Institutes throughout the globe are governed effectively on your behalf. On 13 December 2013, The IIA’s Global Board of Directors decided to end the affiliation between IIA Global Headquarters and IIA Pakistan. Beginning on 17 March 2014, IIA-Pakistan – including chapters, clubs, or branches – will no longer be recognized by IIA Global Headquarters and any of its affiliates. Many factors led to the global board’s decision, and it is felt that the long-term interests of The IIA and the internal audit profession in Pakistan are best served by ending the existing relationship.
