Message from Prof. B.L Desai : How TEQIP has benefited / impacted Students: TEQIP (Technical Quality Improvement Program) is a Central Govt(MHRD) program funded by World Bank & supported by State Govt. This is a grant of Rs 10 Crores. 1. Around 30-students from higher semesters have been sent for Conference and Paper presentation with registration, travel & accommodation expenses paid. 2. Around 200+ students have been funded for Industry visits and Industry Exhibitions, which are coordinated through departments. 3. Around 25 students have been funded for participating in various contests after they have cleared the first round. 4. Around 10-students have been funded for Project discussions with Higher learning institutes and industries. 5. Each year 40-PG students are given Teaching Assistantships of Rs. 6000/month. 6. Majority of final year students have attended Mock interviews/Special expert Talks to enhance placements which are sponsored under TEQIP. 7. Entire fibre optic network for internet access is funded by TEQIP. 8. Many equipment like CNC Machines etc are bought under TEQIP & are directly used by students. 9. 385 faculty and 71 staff deputed for various subject domain training / workshop / conference / seminar outside the campus. This will directly translate to big benefits to students. 10. TEQIP funding has led to enhanced networking with industries like Bosch, Quest and institutes of higher learning like IISc, IITM etc, for updating the curriculum & enhanced placements.
