Message from Shenna Bellows for US Senate: Dear Friend, Thank you so much for being a partner in this journey. As you may have heard by now, I recently called Susan Collins to congratulate her on winning another term in the U.S. Senate. We ran a campaign that stayed true to our values from the very beginning, and I am both proud and grateful for what we accomplished together. In the end, we raised more than $2.3 million, and we did so in the best possible way. We did not take a dime in corporate Political Action Committee (PAC) donations, and people across the state and country invested in our vision for the future. Our average contribution was $55.00, and fully half of our contributions were less than $10.00. Thank you for helping us to be a strong voice for what matters most. For certain, our greatest collective impact was putting working class issues front and center in this election; issues like raising the minimum wage, equal pay for equal work and expanding Social Security benefits were brought up again and again – in the debates, in the media and out in the field. Throughout this whole campaign, it was clear: Mainers want change, they want reform and they want better policies that support themselves and their families. This is just the beginning. All of us were involved in this campaign because we care about positive social change, and all of us know as well that nothing worth fighting for has ever been easy.
