Met up with these two buddies Lisa Nagao and Jun Hebisawa after browsing through the Homecoming Festival. Jun showed us a beautiful little garden near campus. I cant remember the name of the place though! Behind the garden was a shrine to a fox god. Before entering one should wash their hands at a water fountain by the entrance for this purpose. Jun then tutored me on what to do at a Shinto shrine; make an offering (five yen will do), ring the bell, bow twice, clap twice, pray, and bow once more. Behind the main shrine was a collection of smaller ones. I asked about the gate and what it means, but apparently the key feature of the distinctive gates is not actually the structure itself, but the rope tied along the top. Supposed to indicate that beyond that point is sacred. Afterward we headed back to the law building to get some work done. Finished most of my two upcoming presentations. A good day, I would say!
