MetroNews Morning News Headlines: West Virginia is under a flash flood watch over the entire state through 11 p.m. However, once todays system of pop up and powerful showers and thunderstorms is passed, the weekend is looking fantastic. The state Public Service Commission has ordered Mon Power and Potomac Edison to do in person meter readings and stop their estimated billing system. The order follows an investigation into numerous customer complaints over the last three years. Dominion Energy is in the design phase of a multi-state pipeline to deliver Marcellus Shale natural gas to points south. The pipeline would start in Harrison County, but the route it takes to the Virginia border and into the Carolinas is yet to be determined. The U.S. EPA is due to release new air emission standards next week on existing power plants in the United States. Already, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is out with projections which indicate the new standards will be a crushing blow to the economy of Appalachia, particularly West Virginias coal industry.
