Michaela Dolphin & I recently attended the VI International - TopicsExpress

Michaela Dolphin & I recently attended the VI International Alexander Symposia in Salt Lake City, Utah, directed by Lindsay Adams (et al, President, Association of Ancien Historians). Ive been to 4 of the 6 (missed 2 for largely personal reasons, both overseas) and had the privilege of taking 2 different talented students to 2 different symposia. This one will have our proceedings published, which is quite the coup for a masters student to be invited to publish with Ph.D.s in the field. Her paper was generally well-received, with the usual expected suggestions for look at this, but no evisceration. And again, when presenting to a room full of *specialists*, thats no small thing. I WANT TO EMPHASIZE...Michaela was the ONLY *masters* candidate presenting. EVERYbody else was a professor (senior, tenured, tenure-track), masters grad, or defending phud. To be welcomed into that crowd takes cojones. ;> Ive only ever taken one other M.A. student to an ATG International Symposium (Bryan Mayfield) but there were other student presentations at that one, in fact, an entire panel. Michaela was the only masters student at this one. And shes OURS. Please congratulate Michaela when you see her next!
