Mike read the directions for our new, water-saving, efficiency washing machine and started a load. The control panel looks like the dashboard of the space shuttle and it sounds like a very quiet jet engine warming up. Mike amused himself for a number of minutes watching the clothes wash through the glass window in the top. The dogs watched in concern through the doorway, with three heads, all tilted to one side or the other. We were eating lunch when I heard new noises. I told Mike that the landing gear was down and it was coming in for a landing. Sure enough, when he walked into the utility room, our first load of laundry was done in record time.
