Min. Wage in MI gos up to $8.15 as of September 1st... Start talking with your employer now about possibly scaling your wage to meet the increase. This is the first increase in a series that will end with a final wage of $9.25 as of Jan. 1st 2018 Too little too late if you ask me... but some of you will surely tell me not to look a gift horse in the mouth... An immediate increase to $10.10 would have been fair given the state of affairs in MI methinks... By the time 2018 rolls in ill be interested to see what the consumer price index shows as it relates to the COL. I will say Im happy to see that they at least tossed in a measure mandating that the State Treasury adjusts for inflation going forward... Thats a step in the right direction. Every January beginning in January 2019, the state treasurer shall adjust the minimum wage by an amount determined by the state treasurer at the end of the preceding calendar year to reflect the average annual percentage change in the consumer price index for the most recent 5-year period for which data are available. legislature.mi.gov/documents/2013-2014/publicact/pdf/2014-PA-0138.pdf
