Minister, Science and Technology and Forest, Environment and Wildlife Management Department, Mines, Minerals and Geology department Mr. Tshering Wangdi Lepcha inaugurated Science Library at the Building of UD &HD, Development Area, today. While interacting with the officials of Science and Technology along with the teachers of various school of in an around Gangtok, the Minister said that the students should be benefited from the library and they should be motivate by the teachers and parents to visit the library. He said that though the library is small but it has good collections of books for people from all walks of life. He suggested the teachers to find out newer method of teaching to make science subject interesting and exiting so that the student are encouraged towards this subject. He also urged them to motivate the students to visit such library and study centers which could help them to develop their knowledge parallel with their regular study. He also thanked the Secretary and his officials for their efforts to reform and establishment of this library. The Secretary Science and Technology, Mr. P T Euthenpa informed that the library has various types books in different subjects including research books and study materials on the state of Sikkim. He urges the people of the society to take benefit of the library to enhance their knowledge and also encourage the students to make the use of library which is free of cost to the students. The Special Secretary Science and Technology, Ms Sarala Rai briefed about the background of the library.
