Sub-topic: The Force of Meekness Text: 1 Cor. 3:11 Foundation is key to enjoying your birthright in Christ. 1 Pet. 3:4 Meekness is more of what you do with God’s instructions than what you can see. It is a virtue of the heart and that is where God’s eyes go. Matt. 5:5 There is inheritance for the meek here on earth before eternity. It is more of the character of the spirit. Gal. 5:22; Jam. 4:6-7 When humility/meekness is found, grace to resist the enemy is released to the meek for his blessings to come forth. Importance of Meekness It is a major qualification for revelation apart from the fact that the meek always enjoy divine presence. God is not far away from the meek. Ps. 25:9; Ps. 103:7; Num 12:3 Meekness is about being bendable, flexible against what you know. It is not as much as it is in your look as it is in your walk. Ps. 45:4 Meekness qualifies you to terrible teachings of God. There is no better qualification for divine guidance than meekness. Prov. 6:7 Characteristics of Meekness Ps 37:1; Deut 18:18; Matt. 11:28-29; Ps. 37:1-10 1. A meek person frets not. 2. The meek always trust in the Lord. 3. The meek use opportunities to help others. 4. Their delight is in the Lord and in the law of their God and in His course. Ps. 1:1-2 5. The meek always commit his ways to the Lord. He is not a man of himself. He will never do anything without the approval from the Lord. Prov. 3:5-7; Prov. 16:9 6. Rest in the Lord. No anxiety, God is your peace. Don’t be careful for nothing. In your struggle, there is no solution but in your rest lies your breakthrough. 7. Wait upon the Lord. Ps. 37. Though it tarries, wait for it. Those who don’t know the secrets of patience end up as a patient. 8. Cease from anger and controls wrath. How to cultivate meekness 1. Spending time with the master gardener. 2. Take time for the preparation of the soil of your heart. 3. Continue to fertilize the seed daily with more of God’s Word 4. Create time daily to receive the refreshing of the spirit by singing Holy Ghost songs. Eph 5:19-21; Jude 1:20 5. Take communion. Jn. 6:15-18 What do you stand to gain? You inherit the earth.
