Missouri Valley Football Announces 2013 All-Conference Squad QB Brock Jensen of North Dakota State; LB Tyler Starr of South Dakota; and coach Craig Bohl of North Dakota State highlight the 2013 Missouri Valley Football Conference all-league units. (MVFC all-Newcomer Team announced on Tuesday, Dec. 3) OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: QB Brock Jensen, North Dakota State DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: LB Tyler Starr, South Dakota NEWCOMER & FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR: RB Martin Ruiz, Youngstown State ‘BRUCE CRADDOCK’ COACH OF THE YEAR: Craig Bohl, North Dakota State Jensen, the all-time FCS record holder with 44 career victories, set an NDSU record with 26 TD passes this season while leading the Bison to the overall No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division I Football Championship and perfect 11-0 regular-season record. Hes the first North Dakota State player to earn the leagues Offensive Player of the Year honor. Starr headlines the defense as the leagues Defensive Player of the Year. The senior from South Dakota is the nation’s active career leader in forced fumbles (13), and he also ranks second in solo tackles for loss (39) and fourth in total sacks (27.0). Hes the first Coyote to be honored with an MVFC specialty award (USD joined the league in 2012.) Meanwhile, Bohl has led NDSU to back-to-back FCS national championships and three straight Missouri Valley titles as NDSU has set a league record with 20-straight wins. Hes earned the leagues top coaching honors three-straight seasons.
