Misunderstandings Concern the Jews : Zechariah 2:8, “ For thus says the LORD of hosts; After the glory has He sent me to the nations which spoiled you: for He that touches you touches the apple of his eye.” The Jews had been taken into captivity for 70 years by the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar. God sent Zechariah to prophecy in Babylon. The book of the prophet Zechariah is dated 520 B.C.E. - 518 B.C.E., while the Jews were still in Babylonian captivity. Born-again Gentiles are Called : “Gods People” Please notice that God refers to Gentiles as His people in (Zechariah 2:10-11), “ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, look; I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you, says the LORD. And MANY NATIONS SHALL BE JOINED to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.”
