Misuse of the police has been a major element of wrongdoing during the mayoral career of Vincent Cianci. He used a Providence policeman to assist in his violent criminal assault of a man who he believed had cuckolded him. In todays Sunday Providence Journal, at page A12, there is a photo of VC using his city-supplied limousine to transport him to federal court to appear in the racketeering case where he was the principal defendant. That car regularly sat on a Jamestown street, with a Providence police officer chauffeur idling away his time, while VC spent hours in a restaurant there.
