Mitchell And Hegarty Return ALLY McCOIST makes three changes to his Rangers team from last week’s meeting with Albion Rovers for today’s League Cup tie against Forfar. Northern Irish pair Andy Mitchell and Chris Hegarty come into the starting line-up, while David Templeton also starts as expected. Nicky Law and Jon Daly drop out of the side due to the fact they and all the club’s other new players are ineligible until they become registered. Kyle McAusland is the other man to slip from the starting XI from six days ago at Livingston and he takes a place on the bench instead. Hegarty takes his place at right-back in a defence where captain Lee McCulloch remains next to Sebastien Faure and Lee Wallace. Ian Black is the holding midfielder in a 4-1-4-1 shape, with Mitchell, Robbie Crawford, Lewis Macleod and Templeton ahead of him. Andy Little ploughs a lone furrow up front as McCoist is limited to using players who were contracted to the club last term against the Loons. Scott Gallacher is in goals once again, with Alan Smith filling in as the replacement keeper on the bench. Also among the replacements are Barrie McKay, Fraser Aird and Canadian defender Luca Gasparotto, with Andy Murdoch travelling but missing out. Among those expected to feature for the home side is former Ibrox defender Marvin Andrews, who moved to Forfar during the summer. He’ll play for a side led by Dick Campbell which just missed on promotion to the new Scottish Championship last term and the hosts are likely to be tough opponents.
