Mkhulu why are you so hard on ethics and morality? Why do you hate the whores and celebs so much? Far from it. I have great sympathy for the whores, and the beautiful and gifted. I hate that they so often choose unwittingly to become our victims. They are the sad jewels of what would otherwise be a duller existence for the rest of us. Sad, for they often make unfortunate choices because of our ready adulation. But they have to live with the inevitable consequences. Like the iron law of wages, there is a reason for their existence, but it is not a kind one. In our adulation we feed hungrily on their beauty and charm, then, having fed, discard what remains to plunder the continually-produced crop of new susceptible victims. It takes great strength of purpose for the beautiful, gifted, and charming to resist the easy temptation of their significant attraction to others. To avoid the easy path offered by the adulators. A path that leads only to despair, abandonment, self-hatred and bitter resentment. To learn the value of those "old-fashioned" virtues of being hard-working, faithful, and honest. To learn to avoid temptingly easy short cuts by understanding that the worthwhile does take hard work, commitment, and self-sacrifice. But those things are necessary to achieve goals that would lead to a deeper, more substantial, utility than trading on superficial attraction.
