MoM of the 289th chapter meeting of Toastmasters Club of Pune held on 18th October 2014 Theme of the day was Black and white 26 Toastmasters and 11 guests attended this meeting SAA Shashikant Zalte started the meeting at sharp 5 pm and explained the rules and regulations of the meeting there was an introduction of the guests and then TM Shashikant introduced the Toastmaster of the day Toastmaster of the day Sujata Nalavade took us through the meeting very smoothly, in a very confident manner and introduced everyone: Role players, speakers and evaluators in her own unique way. President Azharuddin Khadri in his opening address mentioned the names of those members who had achieved educational awards, and also asked how many of us would achieve education awards within a certain period and asked every member to prioritize their goals. Grammarian ACG ALB Beena Mandrekar introduced the word of the day ‘Rapport’ and the phrase of the day ‘Black and White’ At this meeting we had 7 speakers who delivered their speeches on a variety of topics. The first speaker TM Yogesh Dhatrak attempted Project 1 and his speech told us about himself ,his simple and humble beginnings ,his education in a gurukul ,his co curricular activities and about the company he works in .The second speaker TM Mansimrat Gurai attempted Project 1 and in her speech told us about herself ,her family ,told us about her childhood ,education and her love for dogs. The third speaker TM Mayukh Roy attempted Project 5 and in his speech ,gave us 3 lessons on how to bargain ,these three lessons were ,don’t hesitate and hurry ,know your product and how to negotiate ,with the help of three stories. The fourth speaker TM Shreya Kanabar attempted project 5 and in her speech , narrated a incident from her life where she and her friend Sneha had a narrow escape, and gave us a message that value your and others life ,follow traffic rules because by following traffic rules you are ensuring others safety. The fifth speaker TM Prasad Patil attempted Project 7 and in his speech, shared his own experiences about running in marathons, he also talked about the fitness and experiences of those who ran in marathons. The sixth speaker ACB ALB Azharuddin Khadri attempted advanced project 2: Let’s get personal from Story telling Manual and had the audience in suspense throughout the speech and also asked everyone, an important question, where are you heading???? , with respect to many situations in our lives, and gave a message, not to give up, stay together and live together. The seventh speaker CC CL Hemang Mandrekar attempted Advanced Project 1: Raising a Toast from the Special Occasion Manual and in his speech gave a toast to the Idea of India, which is today, at its peak and is the third largest economy in the world. Evaluators TM Aabana Rao, TM Jitendra Kumar, ACB ALB Azharuddin Khadri, TM Kaustuv Baral, CC, CL Surabhi Shrivastava, DTM Prasad Sovani and ACB ALB Nagappan Palaniappan gave their target speakers their feedback Table Topics Master TM Sandip Pradhan had topics based on the theme and gave equal opportunities to both members and guests. Timer TM Prathamesh Kale was very prompt and went according to the timing of the agenda Grammarian ACG ALB Beena Mandrekar gave a detailed report on the good and not so good usage of grammar Ah Counter TM Suchita Pathak gave a detailed report of the Ahs ums, fillers and repeated words General Evaluator CC Sudarshan Mahajan gave a detailed report of the proceedings and not only commended everyone but also gave some suggestions as well.
