She is also correct about consultations. Decision about national identity is for discussion, consultation and dialogue and possibly referendum. The process is important and is a sustainable approach. If we did a referendum and we all chose Fijian then it gives us a sense that is truly what is preferred by all. Consultation allows those who have reservations a space to share their reservations and their reasons for it. We may not agree with the outcome but is good to be consulted.
