Modi has 8 million followers in Twitter, 25 million likes on Facebook! Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose communication strategy has been sharply focused on social media crossed 8 million followers on Twitter and 25 million page likes on Facebook on Wednesday. His position as the second most followed politician on both platforms remains unchanged since September 2014, when he had 6.13 million Twitter followers and 21 million Facebook likes. As of September, he trails significantly behind US president Barack Obama who currently has 49.9 million followers on Twitter and over 43.6 million likes on Facebook making him the most followed politician in the world on both platforms. A Twitter blog from September said that Modi had added more than 2 million followers on his Twitter account within the first 100 days of assuming office. His official handle, @PMOIndia, has 3.56 million followers. On Twitter the third most followed politician is Indonesian president S B Yudhoyono with 5.97 followers. Meanwhile on Facebook, Modi is trailed by Mitt Romney who has 11.3 million likes.
