Mom here- I am sorry that I didnt post the foster puppy update as I said I would yesterday, but I had a terrible headache. Solit is our new foster pup. We are currently fostering him through Pits for Patriots. This program trains rescued pit bulls to be service dogs for our veterans and first responders. Solit will be living with us for about a year. During this time, we will work on basic obedience and socialization. We will be going to training, puppy play groups and community outings 5x per week. Once he has been taught basic obedience and socialization, he will leave our home and go on for specialized training to become a service dog. Solit was found in an abandoned building with his mom and 7 siblings. He went to animal care and control for a week and once his hold was up, a local rescue group pulled his family out. Once the pups were old enough to be away from their mom, Pits for Patriots went to evaluate the litter. Solit was the chosen one. Solit was named after Daniel Solit, an army veteran that left this life way too early by suicide. 22 veterans will take their own life today. If raising a puppy for a year and putting forth so much time and energy into him, will possibly save a life, our family is in this and we will give 110% each day. I am humbled, excited and anxious that we were chosen as the family to raise Solit. I’ve got the best pack on this planet and I couldn’t do it without Zoey and Atticus.
