Monday, August 11: We returned to Baylor today to begin our intensive out patient therapy. Today was basically a day of testing. Testing that will determine our course of treatment. You know – what we need to work on, what he has mastered. We are blessed to maintain our same therapy group and we know that he will thrive in their care. So the testing was challenging. Dane does not like it when he is unable to do anything. I was so proud of him for keeping his frustration in check. He did not quit, even when it was hard. He made the day fine and I assumed he would fall asleep on the way home but he did not. He’s a tough little cowboy. I know I was tired. Testing is something that we all do in the course of our lives for various purposes. Life itself can be a test. 1 Corinthians 3:13 says, “ Each one’s work will become clear; for the day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.” I have considered how I have performed in the test of life. As I have been tested by fire through this journey, “For You O God, have tested us, You have refined us as silver is refined, You brought us into the net, You laid affliction on our backs…..We went through fire and water But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.” Psalms 66:10-12. Dane will not quit in the face of difficulty, he is up to the test. I hope I can be found to have the same fortitude. What a lesson to learn from my little son. “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Christ Jesus is in you?” 2 Corinthians 13:5 Pray for Dane as he begins this next step in healing. Pray for memory, thought processes, balance, and coordination. Pray God allows him to return to what Dane loves and that he has an undeniable testimony to show the world what an amazing, BIG God we serve! Glory to God….Sunday’s coming……
