Monoprice 10-Feet VGA/SVGA Male-Male Monitor Cable with Stereo - TopicsExpress

Monoprice 10-Feet VGA/SVGA Male-Male Monitor Cable with Stereo Audio and Triple Shielding Description Despite the introduction of DVI and HDMI, the common VGA connection is still the primary connection for most computer monitors. This triple-shielded cable is designed to handle analog VGA and extended VGA resolutions. It features gold-plated male DE-15 (aka HD-15 or DB-15) connectors on each end for smooth, corrosion-free connections. Additionally, it has a stereo audio line with 3.5mm (1/8) connectors at each end. Each 3.5mm lead has an additional 22 inches of length beyond the DE-15 connector, so you can connect it to your sound card and to the audio input of your TV or monitor. see image >>> tinyurl/nrlu2s7 Details Color: Black Brand: Monoprice Model: 100558 Dimensions: 1.80 h x 7.50 w x 7.80 l,.92 pounds Features Triple shielded Includes both VGA for video and 3.5mm for audio Gold plated connectors ensure smooth, corrosion-free connectors I had previously gotten a similar combo audio/VGA cable that was much longer, 20ft. The video was fine but the audio picked up the signal from the video adding noise into sound from the TV. This is NOT the case with this cable. This cable is thick like the other cable but it is very flexible and most important of all, the signal for video and audio is well isolated from cross-talk: no video signal noise in the audio or vice-versa. This works perfectly at full HD resolutions with a 70 DLP projection HD tv. The connector appears well made and there is enough loose audio cable at the ends to reach the audio jack well with a Dell Vostro laptop. The connectors are solidly made with good strain relief. They should work well in this application where they are connected and disconnected from the laptop frequently. The combo cable design keeps things simple and tidy. Unlike my previous experience this cable gets it right. Its earned 5 stars for sure. Hope this is helpful to someone. Item arrived promptly, and was exactly as described (unlike the last one I ordered...).Its a THICK cable, but flexible enough.Theres no way to secure the VGA connector at the laptop end, but thats the fault of the laptop (Dell), not of the cable manufacturer; the screws are there.Good vendor; would definitely buy again If your looking for a cheap way to watch movies on a small laptop that has a vga port, you can turn most newer flatscreen tvs into a monitor and speakers with this. I have seen several different sizes ranging from 6-32 feet, so plan ahead and choose one that suits your needs. Overall a great product and the only downside is the cord is rather thick and heavy compared to a regular vga cord. See all 10 customer reviews... more information >>> tinyurl/nrlu2s7
