More Cat Tales: After finding creepy crawlies around the house, we set out sticky traps in various rooms. One sticky trap was placed in the laundry room where the cat, Noel, does her business. When I returned home this evening, I started hearing a loud clacking noise that seemed to grow in velocity, and sound. I followed the noise around the house to the laundry room where I saw Noel jumping up and down like Linda Blair in “The Exorcist”. The closer I got to her, the louder the clacking became. What the hell is wrong with my cat?!!! And what in God’s name does she have?!!! Scared to death, I slammed the door shut while Noel was in the room fighting for her life…. my heart was pounding and I couldn’t catch my breath. Then I came to my senses, ‘Theresa, what the hell is wrong with you? Help your cat. She is obviously in distress.’ So I opened the door and noticed that Noel had stepped on the sticky trap, and all of the clacking was the trap hitting the tile and the washer and dryer as she was jumping up and down trying to get the damn thing off her back paw. The more it clacked the more she jumped. She had NO idea what had her. I don’t know if you have ever seen the movie “Forget Paris”, but all I could think about was the scene where Debra Winger came home to find a pigeon stuck on a sticky trap in her apartment. If you’ve seen the movie, you know what happens…And well…ain’t nobody got time for that!!! Minutes later I tackled the cat, and took great precautions to slooowly pull the trap off her paw. In case you’re wondering we are both fine. But now the cat is attracting lint like a sticky lint roller and I am looking for tequila.
