Numerous residences and energy infrastructure threatened. Evacuations in effect. September 16, 2014 at 7:29 AM The fire remained moderately active throughout the night. The winds reversed from up canyon to down canyon in the evening, pushing the fire down through the drainages. The Southwest winds are expected to push the fire towards the northeast, north and northwest. Roll out and long range spotting are predicted to continue. September 16, 2014 at 7:18 AM No change in voluntary or mandatory evacuations at this time. Public information meeting tonight at 7:30 pm at the evacuation shelter located at Seventh Day Adventist Church at 3520 Carson Road, Camino, CA 95709. Fire officials will provide an update and answer questions from the public. Observed temperatures overnight were in the mid to upper 60s with relative humidities of 43-50 percent. The winds were predominately up canyon throughout the day reversed to down canyon winds after sunset. A weak low pressure trough is expected to pass to the north of the incident bringing slightly lower temperatures and higher humidity, however this may also bring increasing winds. Southwest winds are predicted to return again by Tuesday afternoon. Warmer and drier conditions are expected to return towards the end of the week. September 16, 2014 at 7:15 AM 11,570 acres and 5% contained. The fire continues to move in a northern and northeastern direction at a rapid rate of spread. September 16, 2014 at 6:55 AM Per CHP: Westbound 50 has the #2 lane closed from Fresh Pond to sly park due to a wildfire. The estimated time of opening is unknown.
