More on ACA (Obamacare): Ill figure the average cost per individual for health care coverage per month to be $200. It may be far greater than that; just assume its $200 for now. If you figure its much higher, then keep that in mind as you read my comments. When you add in a $6,000 or more annual deductible before Insurance pays 100%, the cost can be far more if you have any serious illnesses or injuries. Obamacare tries to keep the cost of Insurance down by increasing the deductible. For those of you who end up having to pay that entire deductible, youre seriously out of luck. Figure 330 Million people in the United States times $200 = $66 Billion dollars per month that the Federal Government would handle. $66 Billion times 12 months = $792 Billion. The Health Care Insurance Industry which the Federal Government has been desperate to control for decades is a $Trillion dollar business (annually.) Although the Obama Administration was desperate to convince the American public ACA was not a tax in order to gain their approval, the Federal Supreme Court declared ACA (Obamacare) is a tax. The Federal Supreme Court declared that if ACA was not a tax, that it would not be constitutional. Obamacare (ACA) is still not Constitutional for a very simple reason: Obama argued he had the right to legislate health care via ACA because of the Federal Governments right to regulate Interstate commerce. FACT: The vast majority of Americans do not cross state lines for health care. On that basis, health care does not qualify as Interstate Commerce. The Federal Government always knew all of that. Obama was simply desperate to get ACA passed, same as with his claim you could keep your insurance and doctor if you wanted to. While we now view his repeated statements as a lie, that wasnt really the case. When Obama made those statements (about being able to keep your doctor and insurance if you wanted to), he didnt view it as a lie because he was convinced that ACA would make your prior insurance so expensive You wouldnt want to keep your prior insurance, and everyone knows how hard it is to keep your doctor when you switch insurance policies. As a tax, the Federal Government would just love to be able to add a $Trillion dollars to its annual tax revenue. After all, those mean Republicans fight taxes every chance they get. And since ACA is a tax on the consumer (us), it wont hurt corporations which would go out of business if they were forced to pay the tax. Problem: When companies have over 50 employees, they are required to provide health care insurance to their employees. Many companies avoid the mandate by hiring part time employees. The Federal Government could easily resolve that problem if it wanted to. There is a simple solution to that aspect: When the Federal Government mandates employers provide health care insurance, the mandate should be that the employer pay a percentage of each employers health care according to how many hours that employee works. If an employee only works 20 of 40 full time hours, the employer should be required to provide 50% of the cost of what it would apply to a full time workers health care insurance. If the employee works 30 hours, the employer would be required to pay 75% of the cost of a full time employees health care insurance. With this arrangement, employers would no longer resort to hiring part time employees in order to avoid having to provide health care insurance. Ive known of this solution for decades. Why hasnt the Federal Government implemented it? Dont tell me its too hard to implement. Such a claim is merely an excuse for those who are either too lazy or too stupid to do so, or who arent really interested in resolving the problem.
