More prominent Australians have today joined the Global Voices for World Heritage. They are comedian Rove McManus, actor David Wenham and musician Nick Cave, along with country music veteran John Williamson AM and Dr Karl Kruszelnicki AM, scientist and author, Australia’s best known science commentator. Support from prominent Australians and international environmentalists has grown since The Bob Brown Foundation launched its new online campaign. “Having high-profile Australian’s such as Rove McManus, David Wenham and Nick Cave join our cast of Global Voices puts an international spotlight on the Australian Government’s attack on world heritage in their application to withdraw 74 000 ha from Tasmania’s world heritage area,” Jenny Weber, Campaign Manager for the Bob Brown Foundation said. Joining Geoffrey Rush, Jane Goodall, Hamish Blake and Mick Malthouse as Global Voices for World Heritage are Former ALP Minister and conservationist Bob Debus, Musicians Kev Carmody, Shane Howard, John Schumann, Lior and Missy Higgins, Greenpeace Australia Pacific CEO David Ritter, and internationally recognised conservationist Dr Nan Schaffer, President of SOS Rhino.
